About the role

Horizon Village is dedicated to providing safe, supportive housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Responsibilities

• Personal Assistance: Helping with daily tasks such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
• Community Integration: Supporting individuals in social, recreational, and leisure activities in the community.
• Supervision & Interaction: Constant supervision and interaction with participants, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Transportation: Occasionally providing transportation to appointments or activities as coordinated by the Site Supervisor.
• Compliance: Adhering to all agency and state regulations, policies, and guidelines while providing care.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• A strong desire to work with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and midnight shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Preferred but not required; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Compassion & Patience: A strong desire to work with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and midnight shifts as needed.
