Responsibilities

• Provide care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Offer community integration/inclusion guidance and consultation to individuals, families, and significant involved persons.
• Develop opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate in community activities.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of residential participants living in the facility through proper supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, MVD report, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to prepare required paperwork and type.
• Working knowledge of computers and electronic clinical record keeping.
• Ability to successfully complete certifications and trainings for First Aid, CPR, Article 9, Medication, and Prevention/Support, Direct Care Worker, and any other required training.
• Able to operate independently with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrated skills for respectful communication to participants and coworkers.
• Obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and pass a background check along with Central Registry Clearance.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and a varied schedule each week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Sign Language.
• Prior experience in Habilitation or Rehabilitation.
• Two years of experience in a person-centered community integration program assisting persons with developmental and/or psychiatric disabilities.
• Two years of experience in habilitation/rehabilitative assistance to persons with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities.
• Very strong interpersonal skills.
