Direct Support Professional

About the role

The Direct Support Professional will provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on promoting independence, safety, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Monitor individuals' health and safety, reporting any concerns to supervisors.
• Engage in recreational and social activities to enhance the individual's quality of life.
• Support individuals in developing and maintaining positive relationships with peers and family members.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for supporting individuals with special needs.

Skills

• Basic computer skills.
• First aid and CPR certification.
