Direct Support Professional - Adult Family Home

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care, including bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
• Following a prescribed healthcare plan, such as assisting with exercise and administering medication.
• Ensuring the home is organized according to residents’ needs and maintaining safety measures.
• Keeping the home and equipment clean, encouraging resident participation as willing or able.
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
• Mobility assistance may be required, such as helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
• Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Further education may be beneficial.
• Job experience and CPR training may be necessary.
• A valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• A high degree of attention to detail and discretion.
• Demonstrated common sense, judgment, communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
