About the role
The Direct Support Professional will support Laradon’s mission by supervising and facilitating the development and training of individuals with developmental disabilities in habilitative activities. This role will increase participants' functional skills to maximize their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Aid in designing individual programming.
- Implement, track, and record adaptive and/or behavioral Individual Service and Support Plans (ISSPs).
- Complete and maintain paperwork per Laradon’s policy and procedures.
- Prevent and manage crises to provide a safe environment.
- Supervise and actively engage participants while providing positive reinforcement.
- Train in self-care, physical and emotional maturation, socialization, communication, leisure, and other Activities of Daily Living as indicated in the Service Plan.
- Develop and implement habilitative activities per ISSPs.
- Schedule and facilitate opportunities in the community.
- Build natural supports and community connections.
- Maintain effective communication.
- Administer medications per individual's order and document according to regulations.
- Implement protocols.
- Drive participants as necessary for program needs.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Two years of direct experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays.

- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and related support strategies.
- Experience with crisis intervention and management.
- Proficiency in using technology for documentation and record-keeping.

$21.00-$24.60/hr

7am-3pm, Monday-Friday
