Direct Support Professional - 11pm-7am Shift

About the role

Devereux Pocono Center provides programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional at Devereux, you will provide safe, supportive care to residents at the Pocono Center, ensuring their physical, emotional, and personal needs are met.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with hygiene
• Supporting daily routines and community outings
• Attending training sessions
• Completing special assignments as directed by the coordinator

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required
• One (1) year preferred of human service experience working with children, adolescents, or adults preferred
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be able to complete required new hire orientation class
• Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs

Physical requirements

• Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing
• Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 50 lbs. or more
• Some repetitive wrist/hand movements
• Normal hearing and vision
• Occasional use of computers and office equipment
• Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes
• Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches

Work environment

• Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated
• Some fluctuations in temperature
• Use of protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown
• Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens
• Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches

Pay

• Competitive Pay: $18.00–$20.52/hr based on experience, education, and shift
• Earn up to $0.50/hr in shift differentials
• Earn an additional $0.29/hr if you have an active CNA
• $1/hr increase to base pay with an active NADSP Level 1 Certification

Schedule

• Full-time, part-time and on-call
• Days (7am-3pm), Evenings (3pm-11pm), Overnights (11pm-7am), & Weekend Only Options
• Note: There are only part-time or split shift positions available for the 11pm-7am shift at this time

• Tobyhanna, Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg, Scranton, Dickson City, Mount Pocono, Newfoundland, Greentown, Cresco and Canadensis
