What You’ll Be Doing

  • Avoids activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Helps with meal preparation, household chores, and creates a safe, comfortable home environment.
  • Administers medications as directed.
  • Safeguards individuals during walking, transfers, and the use of mobility aids.
  • Supports individuals in attending medical appointments and following treatment plans.
  • Implements strategies to support behaviors in a respectful manner.
  • Encourages and reassures individuals to build confidence and independence.
  • Plans and participates in recreational, educational, and social activities.
  • Fosters involvement in community programs and events to enhance belonging.
  • Assists with communication tools or techniques to help individuals express themselves.
  • Advocates for their needs, rights, and access to services.
  • Collaborates with healthcare providers, therapists, and other team members for holistic care.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records including daily notes, progress reports, incident reports, and other required documentation in electronic systems.
