Direct Support Leader

About the role

We are hiring a Direct Support Leader to provide support for individuals and/or groups of persons with disabilities in residential and day settings. The role includes performing both Direct Support and House Assistant duties, assisting with staff coverage, and implementing services to address individual goals.

Responsibilities

• Supports individuals and groups with disabilities in both residential and day settings
• Affirmatively assists with ensuring staff coverage across all shifts
• May be required to reside at certain residences to cover special schedules
• Aids in identifying and communicating the needs of the person receiving services
• Implements services and supports to align with the person’s Person Centered Plan goals
• Completes tasks under supervision and direction of the Home Manager

Requirements

• Positive and personable demeanor
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, mental health, and substance use challenges
• Knowledge of Person Centered Planning
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and families
• Pre-employment screening including criminal background check, OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification or equivalent
• Experience in a similar role preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work various shifts and special schedules
• Basic computer skills
