Direct Sourcing Buyer

Our client, a global leading organization in the health and wellness industry, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Direct Sourcing Analyst to join their team in Parsippany, NJ.

About the role

As a vital member of the Health Procurement Team, you will play a key role in sourcing and managing external manufacturing suppliers, supporting innovation, and ensuring supply chain excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for external manufacturing suppliers within the Vitamin, Mineral, and Supplement (VMS) sector.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders in Marketing and R&D to support innovation pipelines.
• Manage projects to ensure business continuity, cost reduction, and optimal supply chain performance.
• Negotiate and manage payment terms, purchase prices, and supplier performance to improve gross margin and net revenue.
• Support new product development by ensuring timely launches at competitive prices while maintaining high quality standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in procurement, direct sourcing, or supply chain management within the health, wellness, or related industries (preferred global organization experience).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct benchmark studies and financial performance analysis.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and suppliers.
• Knowledge of supply base technologies and the US manufacturing landscape.
• Ability to develop strategic plans to reduce supplier base and enhance partnerships.

Pay

$38.00/hour.

Schedule

6+ month W2 contract with potential to extend up to 2 years, then transition to permanent hire.
