Direct Care Staff

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Teach and encourage independent living skills, including cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
• Support clients in achieving personal goals and increasing independence.
• Assist with community outings, appointments, and daily activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and case notes.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and positive environment.

Qualifications Required

• Valid driver's license
• Reliable vehicle with current insurance
• Clean driving record
• Ability to work throughout Santa Cruz County
• Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state requirements
• Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Word, and data entry

Preferred

• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges
• Previous caregiving, direct support, or behavioral health experience

• Time-and-a-half pay for approved holiday hours worked
