About the role
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care-teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
Responsibilities
- Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
- Performs a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care.
- Diagnoses patient problems and implements interventions.
- Evaluates patient progress and modifies care plan as necessary.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care.
- Teaches patients and families about their health conditions and self-care.
- Participates in ongoing professional development and maintains current knowledge in nursing practice.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) License (RN) Single State-NC or VA or Multi-State (VADHP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire.
- BSN/MSN (Preferred).
- Phlebotomy experience (Preferred).
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of employment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
