Direct Care Aides

About the role

Join the Caregiving Team at Lifesteps, a local human‑service agency with over 100 years of history, to work with adults who have disabilities in a residential home setting in the Harmarville area of Pittsburgh, PA (near Allison Park and Blawnox). Direct Care Aides (Caregivers) assist special‑needs individuals with activities of daily living, home care, and community participation.

Responsibilities

• Cooking and serving meals
• Cleaning the house
• Shopping for groceries and supplies
• Providing personal care assistance such as grooming or bathing
• Medication administration
• Supporting individual goal attainment
• Organizing community outings and fun activities

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to lift up to 200 lb. with assistance
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
• Ability to obtain ACT 33/34 and FBI clearances
• No prior experience required; paid training provided
• Experienced home‑health aides, nurse’s aides, support assistants, and direct‑support professionals are welcome

Schedule

Full‑time, steady hours are available. Choose from:

• Overnight shift: 11 pm – 7 am
• Evening/overnight combo: 3 pm – 7 am (16‑hour shift)

Part‑time hours with flexible scheduling are also offered for additional income or a second job.
