Responsibilities
- Leadership Team member for the Tax Planning team, including participating in global enterprise tax meetings, as well as succession planning and calibration meetings at the global enterprise level
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 1 tax planning specialist
- Develop and implement enterprise-level, global tax planning strategies including, but not limited to: Intercompany IP migrations and licensing, including strategy, design and execution for the team's scope of product portfolio
- Sourcing strategies and supply chain network planning, including financial flow design and leading subpart F mitigation strategies for team's scope of product portfolio
- Transformational projects, business model design, LER, for relevant business unit and territory (Americas)
- Assess tax impact of supply chain network configuration exercises for DPS and drive tax optimization
- Planning and integration (including partnerships compliance) of Licensing & Acquisition transactions including acquisitions, license agreements, collaboration agreements, distribution agreements and co-promotion agreements and divestments for related DPS
- Control and consolidate the global DPS ETR for business forecasts, quarterly results and long-range financial plan, which also includes driving process improvements for accurate tax rate forecasting
- Collaborate closely with Tax Director Transfer Pricing on appropriate transfer pricing strategy for DPS, including governance, analyzing, monitoring, defending and documenting (including6662 process management)
- Provide tax audit support (Americas) Deliver audit ready DPS Subcon documentation and sub F monitoring
- Responsible for controlling and consolidating the global DPS ETR for business forecasts, quarterly results and long-range financial plan, which also includes driving process improvements for accurate tax rate forecasting
- Support valuations in DPS
- Provide leadership of IT transformation projects in the Americas
- Collaborate with global tax and business partners across DPS to facilitate best-in-class planning and execution of tax planning strategies
- Provide advice and/or support to global tax, trade, and business partners as required, particularly in the areas of supply chain tax planning, IP planning, intercompany service arrangements and transfer pricing policies, including acquisitions and divestiture transactions
- Educate Finance and business partners on the impacts of global tax law changes
- Effectively coordinate between tax and the business, involving outside advisors and co-sourcing partners as appropriate, to respond to government requests for information, site visits, interviews, etc.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- A minimum of 10 years of tax/business experience, including 5 years of tax planning experience, at an advisory firm or in-house experience at a major multinational corporation
- Excellent business partnering and communication skills - specifically the ability to effectively communicate highly technical matters in clear simple language to business partners around the world
- Strong influencing and collaboration skills, partnering with multiple stakeholders across the enterprise and external partners, including a network of legal and economic advisors across the globe
- Ability to develop talent and lead teams across the enterprise
