About the Role
The Director of Admissions/Intake is responsible for implementing and evaluating the facility's admission procedures at The Pavilion Behavioral Health System, a leading provider of behavioral health and addictions treatment in Illinois since 1989. Located in Champaign, Illinois, we offer a secure, nurturing environment for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults, providing therapeutic programming that includes individual, group, and family therapy, activity and recreational therapy, psychoeducational groups, and medical intervention services. Responsibilities
- Perform personnel management duties, including screening, selection, orientation, training, and performance evaluations of assessment and referral staff.
- Maintain intake call, assessment, and administrative documentation associated with services.
- Manage FTE standards and department budget.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for assessments and referrals to ensure overall quality of services.
- Serve as a member of the Management Team and other assigned committees.
- Annually review departmental policies to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital practices.
- Annually review and update job descriptions, performance evaluations, orientation checklists, and competencies.
- Ensure departmental safe work practices and on-call schedules for 24/7 assessment coverage.
- Assist in arranging referrals for treatment in alternative facilities or outpatient services when admission to The Pavilion is not appropriate.
- Complete daily customer follow-up calls as assigned.
- Provide monthly statistical analysis.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Director and representatives to provide referral feedback, participate in referral source meetings, and improve referral source satisfaction.
- Maintain appropriate records for all contacts.
- Respond to support codes in a therapeutically appropriate manner as prescribed in annual TCI Training Inservice.
- Perform additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the CEO.
- Regularly hold staff meetings.
- Assist in the completion of the PPR process for the facility.
- Ensure releases are completed on all admissions.
- Improve patient satisfaction scores for assessment.
Requirements
- Registered nurse or a Master’s level degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Two years of practical experience, preferably in the psychiatric/mental health field.
- Two years of supervisory experience in an admissions setting or office management.
- Understanding of DSM V and its application to psychiatric and/or chemical dependence services.
