About the role
The Edwin, Carter & Canary is seeking a dynamic Food and Beverage Server to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys working in a vibrant, energetic environment, and is passionate about connecting with guests and creating memorable dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers
- Serve food and beverages, anticipate guest needs, and maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu offerings
- Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations
- Complete restocking and cleaning duties, including opening and closing sidework
- Control allocated guest checks and ensure accuracy of guest checks and payment methods
- Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance communication and gain knowledge of products, service, and facility
- Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone, providing timely and knowledgeable information
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous experience in similar position of 3 months or longer
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles, the food server function, and restaurant and kitchen operations
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Basic vision and manual coordination abilities

Qualifications
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering throughout the shift
- Continuous standing during preparation, during service hours, or during expediting
- Moderate hearing to hear customers, supervisors, and communicate with other staff
- Moderate comprehension and literacy to read use records and all special requests
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, follow verbal and written instruction, and communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks
- Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations

Pay
$12.14 - $12.14 per hour
Schedule
Seasonal employment anticipated between July 1, 2026 and October 1, 2026 with flexibility based on business volume and operational needs. Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
