Responsibilities
- Aid the Dining Room Manager with special projects as assigned.
- Take residents’ dining orders in a friendly and attentive manner.
- Learn and retain residents’ names, special requests, and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure the dining room is set up, all necessary items for service are readily available.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the dining room, menus, kitchen, serving stations, and other areas as directed.
- Assist with preparation of beverages, snacks, desserts, salads, and condiments for service.
- Absorb any special dining requests from residents.
- Ensure all residents are accounted for during each meal and complete documentation of their attendance.
- Assist with special events.
- Attend and participate in all in-service training as scheduled.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting staff, creating schedules, organizing side work, and guest relations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but a minimum of two years’ experience in fine dining hospitality and/or full service senior living is required.
- Must have competent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Must demonstrate good judgment, decision-making abilities, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Experience working with seniors is preferred.
- Physical abilities include standing, walking, sitting, using fine and gross motor skills, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and smelling.
- The associate must be able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs intermittently and assist with lifting and supporting residents.
- Must use proper body mechanics.
