About the role

The Server provides assistance in all dining service functions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Serves meals timely and that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Performs proper setting of tables, meal trays, food cards, and dining room setup. Serves resident meals in the dining room, private dining room, and delivers trays to residents' rooms/apartments. Performs dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring utensils and supplies are ready for the next meal. Follows safety regulations and dietary procedures, prepares food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays, food cards, and dining room for service.
• Serve resident meals in the dining room, private dining room, and deliver trays to residents' rooms/apartments.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures to ensure utensils and supplies are available for the next meal.
• Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensure all dietary procedures are followed as per established policies.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• On-the-job training provided; previous experience in food service preferred.
• Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
• Must possess outstanding communication skills and be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must possess superior customer service skills.
