About the Role
The Dining Room Server performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dining Department and is accountable to the Executive Chef.
Responsibilities
- Perform defined work routines using various dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment as assigned by the Executive Chef.
- Follow cleaning duties as scheduled, including cleaning work areas, dining room floor, tables, and chairs after each meal and occasionally after special events; sweep floor at the end of shift.
- Set up the dining room and serve residents per established standards.
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, juice, etc., as required.
- Follow reporting procedures for:
- Supply or equipment needs
- Damaged or loose fixtures, flooring, or tiling requiring replacement or repair
- Unsafe or malfunctioning equipment
- Conditions conducive to breeding insects, rodents, or other vermin
- Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
- Attend in-service educational programs.
- Follow defined safety codes and infection control procedures.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with all federal, state, and facility regulations regarding sanitation and infection control.
- Perform duties efficiently within allotted time.
- Comply with all state and federal regulations, including bloodborne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials, and fire safety.
- Work with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
- Support Wingate’s commitment to providing “5 Star” service on all quality objectives with an emphasis on continual improvement and excellent customer service.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
- Report any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations, or standards of conduct to the appropriate managers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Experience is preferred but not necessary.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow directions and work assignments.
- Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
