Position Overview
The position will assist with serving meals and beverages, bussing tables, and cleaning the dining area.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout all aspects of the dining experience.
- Enter and close out orders using the Dial designated point‑of‑sale system.
- Provide customer service to ensure a high level of resident satisfaction while serving meals.
- Set tables for upcoming meals and reset for the following meal.
- Inform residents of the day’s menu items.
- Address residents by name and note their food and beverage preferences.
- Prepare and serve beverages of choice to each resident.
- Keep water glasses, coffee cups, and/or carafes filled.
- Clear tables as needed during meals and bus tables after meals are finished.
- Vacuum carpet in the dining room after each meal.
- Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations, and personnel.
- Report any on‑the‑job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the shift on the day the injury occurs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
- Must be age 16 or older.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
- Patience and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move about for 3–3.75 hours per shift without the need to sit down.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to learn and help others.
- Enjoyment in working with older adults.
- Some experience in food service is preferred.
