Dining Facility Shift Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily food service operations during assigned shift, ensuring smooth and timely meal preparation, serving, and cleanup
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance of food service workers and cooks
  • Verify portion control, quality of meals, and compliance with nutritional and menu standards
  • Ensure sanitation, hygiene, and food safety practices in accordance with USDA, FDA, and Tri-Service Food Code (TB MED 530)
  • Maintain accountability of government-furnished equipment and report deficiencies
  • Conduct pre- and post-shift inspections, documenting results in quality control logs
  • Ensure proper handling of leftovers, waste disposal, and equipment shutdown after meals

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in institutional, cafeteria, or military dining operations
  • Prior supervisory or lead cook experience required
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification within 30 days of hire (Food Protection Manager certification preferred)
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills; ability to direct a diverse team
