About the role

Join Pelican Valley Senior Living (PVSL) and help us create meaningful impact! As a Dining Assistant you’ll provide outstanding dining service to residents and guests, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable mealtime experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional dining service to residents and guests, assisting with meal selections, building positive relationships, and ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and condition of all flatware and glassware, performing dishwashing and organizing clean dishes in designated areas.
  • Maintain dining and kitchen areas through vacuuming, sweeping, mopping while adhering to safety and infection control procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and team members, proactively communicating and participating in special projects, assisting in other areas of the building, and attending in-service training sessions and team meetings as required.
  • Collaborate and work effectively in a team, performing physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in dining services, food handling, or customer service is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow emergency protocols.
  • Proficient in English for effective communication with staff, clients, and visitors.
  • Successful completion of a state-mandated background check.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle record check, as the position includes driving the company van to transport meals.

Benefits

  • Competitive Wage: $17.45/hr. to $20.62/hr. (hourly non-exempt)
