About the role

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It supports manufacturing and supply chain across all Blue Origin facilities. As a member of a team of specialists, inspectors, and engineers, you will perform detailed inspections of manufactured parts and components to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. The position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to team efforts.

Schedule

Shifts available: A‑Shift – Monday through Thursday (4 × 10‑hour days).

Responsibilities

  • Operate portable 3D metrology devices, including Nikon LRs, and set up measurement parameters for highly reflective parts; perform multi‑instrument surveys, datum alignments, and CAD analysis.
  • Create, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs using software such as PC‑DMIS or Calypso, and set up measurement and reporting templates inside spatial analyzers.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other documentation to guide inspection procedures.
  • Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of manufactured parts, supporting on‑machine and in‑process inspections with Spatial Analyzer, Hexagon, Faro, Arm, Tracker, and hand tools.
  • Record inspection data, document findings, and prepare reports to track quality and identify potential issues.
  • Identify defects, communicate issues to relevant personnel, and contribute to overall quality‑control efforts.
  • Perform inspections per drawing and work‑order requirements and document non‑conformances.
  • Understand practical applications of different inspection types and methodologies.
  • Maintain awareness of interfaces between hardware inspections and the broader Quality organization.
  • Troubleshoot inspection issues and participate in inspection‑optimization projects.
  • Work collaboratively within a team while independently performing inspections.

Minimum qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 + years experience in inspection roles or similar.
  • U.S. citizenship or national status, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawful refugee/asylee status.

Preferred qualifications

  • CMM certification demonstrating competency in operating and programming CMMs.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard 3D inspection and processing software.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting data, identifying discrepancies, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with CMM software such as PC‑DMIS, Modus, Calypso, or similar.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities to resolve inspection‑related issues.
  • Effective communication skills for clearly conveying inspection results and findings.
  • Organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Pay

Base Pay Range for Washington applicants: $27.67 – $38.73 per hour (other site ranges may differ).
