Digital Technology and AI (DTA) & Professional Services Category Manager

About the role

The DTA & Professional Services Category Manager will play a key role in managing the procurement and strategic alignment of technology and professional services across BioMarin's operations. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts for IT and professional services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and negotiate contracts for technology and professional services
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure service levels and cost efficiency
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key vendors
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures
• Support the implementation of new technologies and services

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, contract management, or related field
• Experience in managing technology and professional services contracts
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in procurement and contract management
• Experience with procurement systems and tools
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
