About the role
Support the creation of art-on-product for Zippo and Case while exploring and integrating AI-powered creative tools. Contribute to combining classical design craftsmanship with AI technology to deliver innovative design solutions and improve creative workflows. Assist in bridging conventional design principles with emerging AI-generative capabilities, working collaboratively within and beyond the Design Center.
Responsibilities
- Assist in executing high-quality design work to apply artwork to a variety of Zippo and Case products following established principles and best practices.
- Contribute to original designs from concept to completion using both traditional design skills (composition, color theory) and AI-powered tools.
- Research, develop, and maintain libraries of effective AI prompts, models, and templates for use by the entire Design Center team.
- Demonstrate strong aesthetic judgement, attention to detail, and ability to balance creative quality with efficiency in a manufacturing environment.
- Research improvements for, and optimization of, traditional digital and emerging AI-generative tools; initiate training sessions to improve team workflows.
- Apply knowledge of AI model behaviors, awareness of AI limitations, and creative problem-solving to address challenges.
- Support prompt development to guide and improve the visual accuracy and contextual relevance of AI-generated content.
- Analyze AI-generated outputs and apply traditional design techniques to enhance quality and visual appeal.
- Understand the ethical use of AI-generative tools, intellectual property, copyright considerations, and responsible AI-driven content strategies.
- Assist in analyzing performance data using metrics to evaluate and improve creative content and refine design approaches.
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems and version control tools.
- Explore improvements to repetitive workflows, such as optimizing vector files for manufacturing techniques (Auto Engrave, Deep Carve, Multi Cut).
- Develop training and guide team members on effective use of AI-generative tools to elevate creative standards.
- Support the integration of emerging AI tools into design workflows and optimize outputs for high-quality physical manufacture.
- Generate creative options across products and mediums, creating collections of new conceptual designs based on a single source.
- Work collaboratively with traditional artists to enhance, rather than replace, human creativity using AI tools.
- Utilize presentation skills to share insights, efficiency gains, and AI-driven creative strategies with non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality of upcoming product releases, development projects, and other sensitive information.
- Follow established brand standards, licensor style guides, production method guidelines, templates/die lines, and department procedures.
- Adapt art and design styles to suit each request, custom imprint technique, and product while ensuring production-ready files meet manufacturing guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities, balance shifting tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to determine the optimal approach for each project.
- Check own finished work for accuracy.
- Perform related, additional duties or special assignments as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in digital art, graphic design, a related field, or 3-5 years equivalent professional experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and professional experience acceptable.
- Knowledge of Zippo and Case products and custom decoration methods preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefly); knowledge of Bridge and Acrobat Pro preferred.
- Practical experience with current and emerging AI-powered creative tools and awareness of ongoing advancements.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience with the Macintosh platform.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word) required; knowledge of PowerPoint preferred.

This is an hourly, full-time, on-site position located in Bradford, PA.
