About the Role

Zoro is looking for a passionate, driven individual to join the Digital Experience team as a Digital Product Manager for our Search & Browse experiences. Zoro’s powerful combination of our in-house search engine, expansive product information & attribute system, and an active catalog of over 12 million products combine to deliver the experience that helps Zoro customers find everything they need to run their business.

As a Digital Product Manager, you’ll work with data scientists, technology engineers, user experience designers, digital merchants, and category managers. You’ll focus on understanding our customer experience and business needs while partnering with our Product Information team to expand and improve our ever-growing product catalog. This role will partner with Technical Product Managers to develop deep knowledge of our Search, Recommendation, and Product Information platforms to understand how our search algorithms can present the right product to the right customer at the right time.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy, set the vision, and plan a holistic roadmap for search & browse customer experiences that power Zoro.com
  • Understand and work with large product information models and systems to drive customer-facing search & browse experiences
  • Work with product leaders and business stakeholders to identify the highest impact work, prioritize that work, and deliver improvements in a measurable way
  • Create and foster a test-and-learn approach to evaluate and iterate product experiences to continuously deliver business and customer value
  • Partner with technology, design, merchandising, operations, marketing, and other key stakeholder groups to deliver innovative solutions aligned with business objectives and customer needs
  • Own experience outcomes and KPI measurements related to helping customers find what they’re looking for through our search-based experiences
  • Manage communication and training for new features across the organization and to customers if necessary
  • Maintain competitive and marketplace awareness through research and analysis of current best-in-class and emerging techniques

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required (Master's Degree / MBA a plus)
  • At least 5+ years of experience in eCommerce, Product Management, Digital Marketing, or related fields with a focus on Search & Product Information experiences
  • Deep knowledge of AI-powered search & browse experiences, data & product information models, and an understanding of the competitive landscape
  • Proven ability to communicate with team, partners, and senior leadership with clarity, salience, and urgency, making data-driven decisions
  • Track record of building exceptional products that delight customers and produce clear business impact aligned with company goals and objectives
  • Direct experience working in an Agile product development environment with a detailed understanding of the role of Product Management/Ownership
  • Familiarity with AI applications for product management tasks, assisted search & browse experiences, and product information ingestion, review, and maintenance
  • Comfort with the Atlassian software suite, especially JIRA and Confluence, or other enterprise-level delivery and workflow software
  • Understanding of how and when to use offline evaluation, hypothesis testing with existing data, A/B test design, and methods for identifying and validating opportunities

Pay

Illinois: $95,500—$159,200 USD

Schedule

Hybrid work model requiring onsite presence at least two days a week at our Chicago HQ.
