Digital Product Engineer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is seeking a Digital Product Engineer for a 6+ month contract-to-hire hybrid role with a regional health insurance provider in Eagan, MN.

About the role

This is a hands-on software engineering position focused on application development, cloud engineering, API development, and modern software delivery practices. Working within an Agile engineering team, the role develops scalable software solutions that enable business processes, enterprise integrations, and digital experiences across the client's technology ecosystem. Engineers collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to build secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise applications and integration solutions
• Develop cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services and modern software engineering practices
• Build and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations
• Participate in application design, technical discussions, and code reviews
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and fellow Software Engineers to deliver business solutions
• Troubleshoot and enhance existing applications while contributing to modernization efforts
• Support enterprise integrations across multiple applications, APIs, and cloud services
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and operational standards

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong Java development experience
• JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservices
• Experience building cloud-native applications (AWS preferred or equivalent cloud platform)
• Strong SQL fundamentals
• Experience working within large enterprise application environments
• Strong communication, curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Eligible to work in the United States

Skills

• Node.js
• React, Angular, or similar UI framework
• Event-driven architecture and event streaming (Kafka or similar technologies)
• Cloud & DevOps experience with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM)
• Docker or Kubernetes
• CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Familiarity with modern data concepts such as ETL/ELT, Databricks, and Spark
• Healthcare or health insurance industry experience
• Practical exposure to AI-assisted software development tools (GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.)

Pay

$69.20 - $79.20 per hour
