Digital Print Production Operator

About the role

The Digital Print Production Operator will communicate regularly with the Graphic Production Manager regarding job status and quality concerns. The operator is responsible for day‑to‑day equipment operation, printing, file ripping, and production of banners, signs, murals, vehicle graphics, and POP display graphics. This role includes preflighting and quality‑checking artwork files before releasing jobs for print production.

Responsibilities

• Communicate regularly with the Graphic Production Manager regarding job status and quality concerns.
• Operate equipment day‑to‑day: printing, file ripping, and production of banners, signs, murals, vehicle graphics, POP display graphics.
• Preflight and quality‑check artwork files prior to releasing jobs for print production.
• Organize production runs on graphic production equipment; maintain updated quantity counts and perform quality audits to ensure accuracy.
• Perform print quality control, color profiling, and troubleshoot machinery issues as needed.
• Conduct operator‑level preventative maintenance on assigned equipment per schedule; log maintenance activities and coordinate service calls.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED (required)
• Associate’s Degree (two‑year college or technical school) (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in running production for color & black/white print products

Skills

• Proficiency with Onyx and/or Caldera RIP software
• Knowledge of wide‑format finishing equipment (Zund file setup and cutting)
• Solid working knowledge of large format printing & finishing processes, industry terminology and materials
• High attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask with changing priorities
• Excellent project and time management skills
