About the role
Under the supervision of a Supervisor I, the Digital Print Operator II (DPO II) performs advanced reprographic and digital printing duties in support of District operations. The incumbent independently prepares, operates, and performs maintenance on digital printing and finishing equipment to produce a wide range of complex printed materials. The DPO II utilizes computer applications to manipulate and prepare electronic files for production, including advanced formatting, file integration, and image adjustments. The incumbent applies in-depth knowledge of printing processes to determine appropriate production methods, troubleshoot equipment and file issues, and ensure quality and efficiency in completed work. The DPO II may provide technical guidance to lower-level staff and assist in coordinating workflow to support timely completion of print jobs. Work is performed with a high degree of independence within established guidelines, contributing to efficient operations, quality production, and effective customer service. The incumbent may also support document imaging and electronic file management in alignment with records retention and digital workflow initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed digital printing and finishing equipment.
- Perform quality control functions and prepare, review, or manipulate electronic files, including both digital and analog formats, to complete print production requests.
- Organize and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Provide effective customer service and communicate professionally with peers, supervisors, management, vendors, and/or executive staff.
- Prepare, operate, and perform maintenance on digital printing and finishing equipment to produce complex printed materials.
- Utilize computer applications for advanced formatting, file integration, and image adjustments.
- Determine appropriate production methods and troubleshoot equipment and file issues.
- Provide technical guidance to lower-level staff and assist in coordinating workflow.
- Support document imaging and electronic file management in alignment with records retention and digital workflow initiatives.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.
- Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required, detailing:
- Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed digital printing and finishing equipment.
- Examples of experience performing quality control functions and preparing, reviewing, or manipulating electronic files.
- Experience organizing and prioritizing multiple assignments to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Examples demonstrating ability to provide effective customer service and communicate professionally.
- Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If basing eligibility on education, include unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification.
- Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a U.S. equivalency report evaluation.
Qualifications
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Digital Print Operator II or Digital Print Operator I exam. For those new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
Pay
- Digital Print Operator II: $4,087.00 - $5,118.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
- Digital Print Operator I: $3,715.00 - $4,653.00 per month.
