Digital Print Operator

About the Role

Under direct supervision, prepare regular work orders using the pre-press machine and operate the Vutek Grand Format printer, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality to support efficient production processes. Support a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures, taking personal responsibility for safety, reporting hazards or concerns promptly, and contributing to a culture that prioritizes safety every day. This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team, working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and sends digital files to Vutek Grand Format printer.
• Provides additional large format technical support.
• Manages a production workflow to accurately produce banner graphics to minimize waste, labor, and costs.
• Communicates directly with prepress, finishing, and shipping departments to ensure critical deadlines are met and quality expectations are exceeded.
• Collaborates with design and production teams to achieve high-quality outputs.
• Interprets and utilizes internal production documentation (GPOs, CAD designs, and detailed design renderings) to drive project execution.
• Delivers outstanding customer service by prioritizing client needs and ensuring a positive experience that fosters loyalty and trust.
• Demonstrates strong adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing change and remaining productive under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
• Identifies and solves issues by analyzing information and developing solutions to drive continuous improvement and operational success.
• Follows all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Completes required safety training and applies safe work practices at all times.
• Immediately reports any workplace accidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe conditions to a manager or through an appropriate reporting channel.
• Participates in safety discussions and communicates concerns or feedback openly to help maintain a safe work environment.
• Uses tools, equipment, and protective gear properly to prevent injuries and incidents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience operating Vutek Grand Format printers or two to four years of related large-format printing production experience.
• Basic understanding of maintenance procedures for digital printers.
• Familiarity with internal production documentation, including GPOs, CAD designs, and design renderings.
• Basic understanding of Print Factory or RIP Software, including Onyx, Caldera, and Fiery.
• Knowledge of various graphic production equipment, materials, and applications.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Photoshop.
• Proficient written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and follow-up skills with keen attention to detail.
• Previous experience working with deadline-driven goals, demonstrating flexibility in responding to changing requirements and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Ability to consistently follow safety rules and contribute to a positive safety culture.
