Digital Press Operator (HP)

About the role

This opening is for a 1st shift Operator. The HP T240 Digital Press Operator is responsible for work performed on the HP Pagewide Inkjet press with the Hunkeler PF7 finishing equipment running inline. Job functions include producing color printed material. Additional functions include troubleshooting and cost-effective use of consumables.

Responsibilities

• Perform work to job specifications as well as in accordance with safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and process reliability expectations
• Prioritize daily work load
• Understand all systems and manufacturing capabilities and processes and look for opportunities to streamline workflow
• Inspect printed material in accordance with the work instructions to ensure quality and consistency
• Make all appropriate updates to systems and logs
• Utilize Production software to log print time for each job
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on the press
• Troubleshoot problems on the press
• Review job specifications in their entirety prior to starting the job and follow the instructions accurately
• Advise supervisor of job specifications in question
• Report all production related problems to supervisor
• Meet all defined departmental standards for quality, productivity, efficiency and waste
• Keep work area neat, clean and well organized
• Maintain confidentiality regarding employee, company and customer information
• Successfully complete assigned tasks and projects
• Comply with all safety and health policies, procedures and practices; actively support safety improvement initiatives; use materials and equipment in an appropriate and safe manner; carry out all tasks in a manner so as to not create a hazard to oneself or others
• Support organizational goals and values
• Identify different types of paper stock used for jobs
• Change and thread new rolls of stock as needed
• Setup and maintain the Hunkeler PF7 Finishing line
• Perform other duties as required
