About the role
The Digital Press Operator sets up and operates the HP 13" Digital printing press to produce pressure-sensitive labels and related products. This position offers onsite training and the opportunity to learn a valuable skilled trade in the printing industry.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality labels to meet job specifications outlined on the label order to match customer standards.
- Input data, including time and materials used, into job management software.
- Read job order and load jobs into press, fill ink cans and pumps with prescribed inks.
- Start press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary.
- Adjust printing impression as needed and run down approval strip.
- Cut sample of approval strip from printed roll, inspect for imperfections, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Communicate job-specific information or changes to the supervisor in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
- Report any production or press issues to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Keep inventory usage accurate at all times.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required.
- Keep work areas clear and organized; maintain housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of experience in a manufacturing environment; printing or packaging industry experience preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devices.
- Regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- May participate in vendor-sponsored training programs.

Pay
$26.00 - $28.00 per hour.
