About the role
This is a unique, established position within KLTV’s groundbreaking live digital broadcast, East Texas Now. The show is a mature, 19-hour-a-day live streaming production that serves as an industry model. Hosts produce, present, and technically direct their own shows using a custom interface developed with KLTV’s input. The role involves live reporting, multitasking across multiple cameras, and engaging with viewers via integrated chat on desktop, mobile, and OTT platforms.
Responsibilities
- Handle breaking news coverage live from the newsroom.
- Conduct interviews with reporters and newsmakers via FaceTime and Skype.
- Self-direct the show, including camera operation and technical execution.
- Set up and coordinate in-studio or remote guest appearances.
- Plan daily content and perform live-read commercials.
- Engage in extensive on-air conversation and viewer interaction.
Requirements
- Experience reporting live on digital platforms, including via FaceTime or Skype.
- Ability to set up guests and reporters for live segments.
- Strong computer skills and technical aptitude for multitasking.
- Flexibility to alternate between dayside and nightside schedules weekly.
- Experience in talk radio is a plus.
