Digital Meteorologist

Job Responsibilities

• Create graphics for the weather team
• Stay current on weather technology
• Ongoing training on weather forecasting equipment
• Provide digital content for KETK.com, KETK+, and social media
• Post up-to-date content on digital platforms
• Present weather reports across various platforms
• Maintain content standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
• Write and deliver weather stories clearly and concisely
• Assist in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating weather programming
• Edit compelling stories on weather-related topics
• Respond to breaking and severe weather events
• Participate in promotional activities and public appearances
• Perform special projects as assigned

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with Baron Weather system
• Fluency in English
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, and office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments
• Strong understanding of meteorology and forecasting skills
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Flexibility to work any shift
