About the Role
Responsible for digital and visual communications activities to support the advancement of a major university division, program, or center through the planning, design, and execution of integrated digital media. Leads communication efforts across current and emerging digital media platforms within a specific college or division, serving as the primary graphic design lead for major university communications.
Responsibilities
- Leads visual communication and graphic design efforts across digital media platforms.
- Conceptualizes and designs high-impact digital publication layouts, including online magazines, interactive annual reports, e-brochures, and university outreach collateral.
- Writes, edits, and proofreads engaging copy and narrative content for digital publications, web pages, and divisional marketing materials.
- Manages the end-to-end creative lifecycle for major digital publications, overseeing typography, layout composition, visual assets, and digital formatting.
- Develops comprehensive social media strategy, curating both daily content and long-term campaigns.
- Coordinates external and internal e-communications, including emails, electronic newsletters, and digital signage.
- Initiates production of video and other media content to support program goals and priorities.
- Guides user experience, interface design, and visual graphics for program websites; executes updates and manages media content across web pages.
- Collaborates with campus media producers, digital designers, and external vendors; oversees visual assets, media equipment, and project data storage.
- Leverages monitoring and reporting tools to define key engagement metrics, grow audience, track project success, and compile detailed reports showing trends across media platforms.
- Manages project lifecycle for all approved digital media initiatives and participates in strategic planning.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline; or basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.
- Knowledge obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or equivalent in-depth specialized training program.
- Minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
- Experience may be considered in lieu of education, and education may be considered in lieu of experience.
