Digital Media Manager

The College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training veterinarians, providing clinical services, and advancing research to improve animal and human health. The college operates a state-of-the-art teaching hospital and diagnostic laboratory, addressing emerging infectious diseases and safeguarding public health.
About the role
This position focuses on building and maintaining the brand reputation of UGA’s College of Veterinary Medicine as one of the nation’s top academic and research veterinary colleges and teaching hospitals. The Digital Media Manager assists in developing and executing media-focused efforts to achieve the college’s goals of awareness, preference, and visibility while ensuring digital media platforms convey a consistent message and position. This role reports to the Director for Communications and Marketing and collaborates with the communication and marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Administer the full social media lifecycle, including content strategy, copywriting, scheduling, performance tracking, and KPI reporting for all digital platforms (50% of time).
- Collaborate with leaders throughout the college to ensure social media activity aligns with brand voice and messaging.
- Manage multiple internal and external digital newsletters on a scheduled release to support the college’s public presence and messaging strategy (25% of time).
- Lead photography and videography efforts, including capturing, editing, and organizing photos and videos for social media, YouTube, and other platforms (15% of time).
- Assist in maintaining a positive web presence to ensure the CVM website is current, functional, and appealing to all users (5% of time).
- Participate in UGA-level marketing and communication meetings and other duties as assigned (5% of time).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with digital channels, including social media and newsletter platforms.
- Experience with social media content management, including strategy, creation, scheduling, and analytics.
- Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
- Experience collecting, organizing, measuring, and analyzing user behavior and digital data.
- Experience in photography and videography, including Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, Express).
- Ability to adapt communication strategies to evolving technology.
- Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining quality.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
