About the role
The Digital Marketing Specialist leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of UAMS’ social media strategy. The position manages UAMS’ official social media platforms, develops and coordinates content, engages with online audiences, monitors the organization’s digital reputation and uses performance data to improve results. The role also supports paid social media, multimedia content development and other digital marketing initiatives, working closely with the Marketing and Communications teams, clinical departments, colleges, institutes, subject matter experts and vendor partners to support UAMS priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage UAMS’ official social media platforms, including content development, publishing, monitoring and performance measurement.
- Create or edit digital photography, video, graphics or other multimedia content.
- Engage with online audiences and manage the organization’s digital reputation.
- Support paid social media campaigns and other digital marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams, clinical departments, colleges, institutes, subject matter experts and vendor partners.
- Travel statewide and work occasional evenings or weekends to attend events, capture content and support campaigns or urgent communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, or a related field, PLUS one (1) year of experience in social media, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related area; OR a high school diploma/GED plus five years of related experience.
- Strong writing, editing, communication, collaboration and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, audience engagement practices and digital communication trends.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when managing public comments, private messages and sensitive online issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar creative tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in health care, higher education or another large, complex organization.
- Experience managing paid social media campaigns.
- Experience with reputation management, customer service recovery or online audience management.
- Experience developing social media policies, standards or training.
- Experience using digital asset management platforms.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for digital content.
