About the role

The Digital Gift Officer (DGO) manages an assigned portfolio within the ministry-wide mid-level gifts program and executes digital donor engagement strategies. The DGO collaborates with the Development Team to implement cultivation strategies for mid-level donor relationships, aiming to achieve East-West's mission and goals. Effectiveness is measured by completing weekly donor engagement goals and achieving annual monetary gift goals through authentic Christian relationships with existing and new mid-level donors.

As an ambassador of faith in Christ, the DGO fosters spiritual encouragement and consistent impact reporting to support each partner in their journey of biblical generosity. This role ensures all donor activities align with East-West's Vision, Mission, Values, Statement of Faith, and Biblical principles. The DGO actively ministers to leadership, staff, partners, and the community, exhibiting Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Steward East-West relationships, donations, and assets, recognizing accountability (Proverbs 16:8; Matthew 25:14-30; Luke 12:41-48).
  • Grow in biblical knowledge to communicate the gospel, The Great Commission, and biblical generosity to donors and prospects.
  • Engage donors and prospects in a loving, kind, and gracious manner that honors God and serves others.
  • New Donor Acquisition and Stewardship:
    • Implement and execute digital donor acquisition strategies using systems and workflows to manage a growing donor volume while maintaining relationship standards.
    • Proactively shepherd first-time donors through the discovery process with consistent impact reporting and prayerful engagement.
    • Execute specialized stewardship tracks for first-time mid-level donors, ensuring high-touch engagement connecting their gift to the Great Commission.
    • Provide feedback on donor conversion trends and portfolio health to refine acquisition strategies.
  • Mid-Level Growth:
    • Actively solicit funds for the East-West ministry budget through mid-level donor relationships.
    • Regularly meet with donors and prospects for cultivation, encouraging biblical generosity and solicitation.
    • Build authentic relationships with mid-level donors through prayer, personal testimonies, and encouragement of biblical generosity.
    • Minister to and communicate with donors via phone calls, letters, and emails, sharing stories and teachings of Christians worldwide.
    • Establish relationships between key leadership and current/potential major donors.
    • Use events, development teams, missionary staff, and communication tools to increase donor engagement.
    • Prepare proposals, reports, and briefings for solicitation and stewardship of mid-level donors.
  • Strategic Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the Development Team to identify, manage, and cultivate individual prospects and donors.
    • Actively utilize fundraising databases for donor management.
    • Maintain integrity in record-keeping in compliance with ECFA standards and Scripture.

Qualifications

  • BA degree or equivalent experience within the discipline (highly preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role (preferred).
  • 5-7 years of ministry/nonprofit experience (preferred).
  • Nonprofit development experience (required).
  • Familiarity with development systems and processes.
  • Missions experience (desired).
  • Uphold a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
