About the role
We are seeking an experienced Digital Engineer to design, develop, and optimize industrial control systems and automation solutions across our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will work with PLCs, SCADA platforms, industrial networks, embedded systems, and digital infrastructure to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Design industrial control systems, embedded solutions, and automation architectures for manufacturing equipment and process-control applications
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs using ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams
- Develop and maintain SCADA systems, HMIs, alarm-management solutions, data historians, and remote-monitoring capabilities
- Create electrical schematics, P&IDs, control-panel layouts, and technical documentation
- Lead system integration, commissioning, testing, and validation of new equipment and control-system upgrades
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and process-engineering teams to identify and implement automation improvements
- Troubleshoot control systems, industrial networks, and fieldbus communications, including Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, and DeviceNet
- Ensure designs comply with applicable safety and regulatory standards, including NFPA 79, UL 508A, and OSHA requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or digital-systems design
- Proficiency with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or equivalent systems
- Experience with SCADA platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, or similar technologies
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols, fieldbus systems, and control-system cybersecurity
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and technical-documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Certified Automation Professional certification
- PE license, EIT certification, or an interest in pursuing professional licensure
- Experience with robotics, motion-control systems, Industry 4.0, or Industrial Internet of Things implementations
- Knowledge of IEC 61508, IEC 61511, Safety Instrumented Systems, or functional-safety principles
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Manufacturing Execution Systems, or ISA-88 batch-control applications
Pay
$85,000–$105,000 annually
