About the role
Igniters operate in the world’s most demanding environment. As a Digital Engineer on our team, you will use your combined Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and software knowledge/experience to help shape and implement digital solutions and services for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). You will work alongside engineers and software developers to develop authoritative engineering models that contribute to our nation’s defense. You’ll apply your knowledge of engineering processes, tools, methods, and programs to design and integrate system architectures, interfaces, and workflows to support Department of Defense (DoD) processes. Positions are expected to be onsite in Dayton, OH.
Responsibilities
- Use DE and MBSE tools and processes to create and manage tailored model-based artifacts that meet customer requirements.
- Apply knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, including Java, C++, or Python.
- Integrate different software platforms/tools.
- Model architectures and system behaviors using SysML/UML.
- Apply MBSE methodologies and tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect).
- Work with relational ontologies, APIs, and design schemas for workflows.
- Implement Digital Engineering (DE) concepts such as Digital Thread/Digital Twin applications, automation, and integration of MBSE across organizations.
- Collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, including internal staff, external contractors, and government customers.
- Produce and present technical documentation and artifacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of SysML/UML for modeling architectures and system behaviors.
- Proficiency with MBSE methodologies and tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect).
- Experience with software engineering and integrating different software platforms/tools.
- Familiarity with Digital Engineering concepts such as Digital Thread/Digital Twin applications, automation, and integration of MBSE across organizations.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering field or related certifications such as OCSMP, INCOSE CSEP, or Project Management PMP.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams through all phases of the Systems Engineering lifecycle using Digital Engineering methodologies.
- Knowledge of SysML 2.0.
- Experience in managing data from interdisciplinary and various program protection levels.
- Knowledge and interest in interdisciplinary work spanning Systems Engineering, Computer Science, and Data Science.
- Experience with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), or other architecture frameworks.
- Knowledge of configuration management, risk management, and cybersecurity.
