Digital Content Producer (VB, Norfolk, Portsmouth)

WAVY-TV and WAVY.com are expanding our commitment to digital-first local journalism. Our newsroom is growing, and we are looking for an innovative, reader-focused, and creative Digital Content Producer to join our award-winning team.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and engaging copy in a deadline-driven environment.
• Edit and post video content.
• Monitor and post relevant content using various social media networks and tools.
• Apply strong news judgment to react quickly to breaking news.
• Ensure content adheres to design, usability, and accessibility best practices within content management systems.

Requirements

• Degree in journalism.
• Daily newspaper or news site experience required.
• Live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred.
• Proficiency in Associated Press style, SEO, and social media strategies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of design for content management systems, usability, and accessibility practices.
• Willingness to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Annual salary range: $44,000 - $47,000.
