About the role

The Digital Business Partner owns the global value narrative for executive leaders across the data and digital portfolio, clarifying the why, defining measurable outcomes, and reporting progress and value realized. This role translates strategy into an outcomes-based portfolio and prioritized roadmap that balances run/operate, regulatory commitments, technical debt, and innovation.

  • Translate strategy into an outcomes-based portfolio and roadmap: shape demand into a prioritized plan balancing run/operate, regulatory commitments, technical debt, and innovation.
  • Build measurable business cases with baselines: quantify current-state performance/cost/risk, define target KPIs/OKRs, and track benefits realization through adoption.

  • Ensure solutions scale as reusable capabilities: promote platform evolution and build-once patterns; manage dependencies and avoid duplication across the enterprise.
  • Champion end-user adoption: ensure change readiness, training/support alignment, and sustained usage to achieve intended outcomes.
  • Provide matrix leadership to globally distributed technologists: align priorities, clarify intent/acceptance criteria, remove blockers, and ensure delivery achieves intended business outcomes.
  • Lead and develop Business Partner talent: coach performance, strengthen consultative partnering, and raise the bar on executive communication.
  • Operate with financial and execution discipline: manage forecasts/budgets, surface tradeoffs early, and escalate risks with crisp, executive-ready updates.
  • Manage software spend and vendor performance while evaluating capability fit and driving sourcing decisions that balance value, risk, and total cost of ownership.
  • Plan and execute application/platform lifecycle strategies (upgrade, modernization, deprecation, retirement) to keep systems supported, compliant, and sustainable.
  • Own vulnerability posture reporting and remediation execution, prioritizing fixes by risk and ensuring issues are tracked to verified closure.
  • Lead VDT operational delivery and team performance across incident/problem/change management, operating model, metrics, and continuous improvement.
  • Govern license provisioning and compliance by managing allocations, reclaiming unused entitlements, supporting renewals/audits, and optimizing utilization.
  • Own end-to-end reliability and day-to-day operations for VMRD Edge site(s), coordinating changes, monitoring, incident response, and stakeholder alignment to protect scientific operations.
  • Govern and optimize the application/software portfolio by maintaining inventory, rationalizing redundancy, setting standards, and reporting portfolio health, risk, and value.
  • Lead portfolio intake and prioritization, manage cross-project dependencies and capacity, and provide clear governance and executive reporting across all initiatives.
