About the role

The Digital Asset Manager oversees the full lifecycle of photo and video assets using PhotoShelter, supporting all HSE departments and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day administration of digital asset systems, including asset ingestion, metadata standards, taxonomy governance, access controls, and distribution workflows
  • Manage the complete photo and video asset lifecycle, including file naming, IPTC metadata tagging, quality control, uploads, delivery, and archival preservation
  • Ensure assets are consistently categorized, searchable, and aligned with organizational standards through regular audits and quality checks
  • Serve as a primary IT Help Desk resource for asset management-related requests, troubleshooting, and user support
  • Manage user access and permissions to ensure internal teams can efficiently and securely locate and use assets
  • Partner with Communications, Consumer Engagement, and creative teams on special projects and workflow enhancements to improve productivity and user experience
  • Provide photography coverage for select team, community, corporate partnership, and internal events as assigned
  • Capture and edit still photography consistent with organizational brand standards
  • Afford photography captured by the organization is properly archived, tagged, and incorporated into the DAM system
  • Support freelance photographers and content contributors by ensuring adherence to established file delivery standards
  • Support integrations and workflows between PhotoShelter and related tools (e.g., Workfront, OneDrive, Dropbox, FTP solutions, AP Images, CatDV)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Library Science, Information Science, Archival Science, Communication Management, Marketing, or a related field (preferred, not required)
  • Strong experience working with Digital Asset Management systems, with hands-on responsibility for metadata, governance, and user access (PhotoShelter experience strongly preferred)
  • Deep comfort working with large-scale media libraries, including still photography and video assets
  • Extensive knowledge of macOS environments
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and modern photo/video production workflows
  • Familiarity with audio, video, and image file formats, containers, codecs, and delivery standards
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, paired with the ability to think strategically about long-term asset management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Proven problem-solving skills and comfort navigating unique or ambiguous situations
  • Strong time management, adaptability, and openness to feedback
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Availability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, Hornets home games, and arena events as needed
