Your Role

Gensler’s Global Design Technology Studio is seeking a Digital Artist to shape the future of visual storytelling. You will work at the intersection of design, motion, and emerging technology, transforming ideas into compelling visual experiences that inspire action, spark imagination, and elevate storytelling. As both a creative visionary and strategic maker, you will build brand visual identities and bring them to life through animation, narrative, rhythm, and emotion. With a refined eye for layout, typography, composition, and color, and strong technical fluency in motion, timing, and video editing, you will collaborate with artists, designers, and innovators to craft powerful stories for internal teams and clients. Together, you will help define the next generation of storytelling through imagery, technology, and human emotion to create lasting impact.

What you will do

  • Create engaging visuals and stories for presentations, animated graphics, infographics, applications, and kinetic typography through motion graphics and other assets.
  • Generate publications and layouts for internal and external storytelling of Gensler Design Technology and project designs.
  • Create branding elements and guides for various projects, initiatives, and internal intellectual property.
  • Establish brand standards for Design Technology with additional resources and templates to support key initiatives.
  • Fluently convey sophisticated concepts and solutions to non-technical audiences through storytelling and visual communication.
  • Craft stories for Design Technology initiatives and IP across multiple mediums, including film, photography, digital illustration, spatial computing, presentations, social media, and print.
  • Engage on specific client projects requiring advanced storytelling through presentational mediums and/or films.
  • Illustrate powerful imagery for bold representation of values, storytelling, and branding.
  • Review designs with Senior Executive Leadership to ensure brand continuity, storytelling, and project engagement.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and consultants for additional graphical support or film production on large-scale projects.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Art, Interactive Media, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in multimedia design, graphic design, and/or film production.
  • Strong file organization and asset management skills with the ability to maintain a structured and efficient digital library.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere.
  • Advanced proficiency with AI-assisted creative tools and emerging design technologies (e.g., NBPro, Kling, Flux).
  • Experience in photography and film production workflows and techniques.
  • Experience with digital content creators such as 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, and/or Blender.
  • Experience with render engines such as V-Ray and Chaos Vantage.
  • Experience with real-time engines, such as Unreal Engine.
  • Experience printing graphics across a range of deliverables, from large posters to design books.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts in different areas of expertise.
  • Solid understanding of modern design principles, including layout, typography, photo manipulation, color theory, and vector graphics.
  • Ability to conceptualize, design, present, and execute modern print and digital experiences, including branding systems, illustration, campaign assets, and social media content.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Extra Skillsets

  • Eye for UX/UI design for applications and web.
  • Film and storytelling production workflows.
  • Background in cinematography.
  • Understanding of how technology connects across devices, networks, and computer hardware.

Pay

The compensation range in Los Angeles is estimated to be between $130k–$150k plus bonuses and benefits, contingent on relevant experience.

Schedule

This position is based on-site in either Gensler’s Los Angeles or Houston office, five days a week.
