About the role

Act as nutritional consultant and resource to members of the health care team. Provides comprehensive nutritional care including assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, implementation of a care plan, counseling, education, and evaluation of outcomes to patients, families, and associates. Coordinates various education programs and seminars on nutritional topics.

Requirements

• Educational requirements based on date of RD/RDN credential:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or related field with completion of an ACEND- accredited DPD and supervised practice program (dietetic internship) required if obtained prior to January 1, 2024, and CDR credential is active and issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Master’s Degree required with Bachelor’s in Dietetics or related field with completion of an ACEND-accredited DPD and supervised practice program (dietetic internship) if initial registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is effective on or after January 1, 2024.
• Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
• Skills and abilities:
• Read, write and speak English; use and understand medical terminology.
• Follow oral and written instructions; perform arithmetic calculations.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with medical, nursing and other health care professionals, patients, and their families.
• Experience:
• 1-year clinical experience as a RD in a healthcare setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
