Job Summary
Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments. Assess patients for nutritional status. Provide interventions/treatments including diet therapy, counseling or specialized nutrition supplements. Collaborate with physicians, nursing and ancillary services such as speech pathology or physical therapy. Monitor tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommend therapy adjustments as necessary. Provide nutrition information for the community that may include public speaking, news releases and other forms of publications. Research and take initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems. Assist in monitoring meals including intake, diet compliance and tray accuracy. Maintain sanitation of food preparation area(s) through planned and unannounced inspections.
Certification/Licences Required
- Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.
Education/Experience Required
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Bariatric experience preferred
