Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate assessments and provide recommendations for patients requiring enteral or parenteral nutrition, in alignment with ASPEN guidelines.
- Deliver comprehensive nutrition education to patients on a variety of nutrition-related topics.
- Work with both surgical and nonsurgical patients in collaboration with the bariatric and weight management team.
- Perform pre-surgery nutrition assessments.
- Manage post-surgery dietary needs.
- Maintain nutritional monitoring.
- Prevent complications.
- Provide long-term nutritional support.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nutritional Science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Successful completion of an accredited dietetics program through ACEND.
- Maryland State licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
- Credentialed Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- One to two years of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist; one year experience as a clinical dietitian in an acute care facility is preferred.
Qualifications
- Recent graduates will be considered but must be registered and licensed in the State of Maryland.
