About the Role
A Clinical Dietitian with a flexible, PRN schedule in Houston, TX. This role offers a consistent, flexible work arrangement with in-person, one-on-one therapy and indirect services completed from home.
Responsibilities
- Provides professional nutritional services in compliance with state practice act(s) and professional standards to meet individual patient needs.
- Ensures adherence to applicable government laws, regulations, company policies, procedures, and healthcare standards.
- Interviews patients and assesses/evaluates their nutritional status to determine dietary needs; advises physicians and nursing personnel.
- Confers with physicians to establish dietary treatments and requirements; prepares and calculates therapeutic diets.
- Provides guidance to patients and families on dietary modifications, restrictions, and drug/nutrient interactions.
- Observes patients' responses to dietary treatment, notes changes in condition, and revises nutritional plans as needed.
- Ensures confidentiality of patient files and documentation.
- Maintains and enhances clinical practice skills through continuing education and staff development programs.
- Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities, including data collection and root cause analysis.
- Maintains professional conduct regarding confidential information and adheres to HIPAA and business ethics programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in Nutrition or equivalent.
- Current Registered Dietitian licensure/certification in the state(s) of practice.
- Minimum of six months related experience; 2+ years preferred.
- Experience evaluating and providing personalized nutrition support to patients with neurological injuries (e.g., TBI, CVA).
