About the role
We are seeking a Licensed Registered Dietitian to provide professional dietetics services within a healthcare facility setting.
Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive nutrition assessments using medical records, diagnoses, nutrition histories, laboratory values, anthropometric measurements, and dietary intake data.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy to prevent and treat various diseases and health conditions.
- Educate and counsel patients regarding dietary needs, nutritional goals, and therapeutic diet requirements.
- Calculate nutritional requirements including calorie, protein, fluid, and nutrient needs.
- Evaluate weight ranges, body mass index (BMI), and other nutrition-related indicators to support treatment planning.
- Review and analyze therapeutic menus to ensure nutritional adequacy and compliance with dietary prescriptions.
- Assess caloric and nutrient content of foods and recommend modifications to meet patient-specific needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding nutrition-related interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, care plans, interventions, and patient progress.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and professional standards of practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Home Economics (Food), or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- Current and active Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional dietetics experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience working as a Registered Dietitian.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, clinical nutrition, and medical nutrition therapy.
- Experience conducting nutrition assessments and developing individualized care plans.
- Ability to interpret laboratory values, medical diagnoses, and nutrition-related clinical data.
- Strong communication and patient counseling skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.
Qualifications
- Graduate coursework in Dietetics, Nutrition, Home Economics (Food), or a related field.
- Experience with electronic medical records and nutrition documentation systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards related to clinical nutrition services.
