Dietitian Responsibilities

  • Assess the clinical nutrition needs of residents/patients and develop and document the plan within the electronic medical record.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on clinical findings, lab results, weight trends, intake, and comorbidities.
  • Prepares individualized meal plans that consider the needs of the patient including; medical, nutritional, age, cultural, religious and ethical concerns.
  • Provides updates on the nutritional status of each patient weekly as part of team rounds/meetings and as requested.
  • Collaborates with medical professionals to assure patient nutrition needs are met.
  • Completes all required documentation and reports in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian.
  • Must have training in food management, diet therapy, etc.
