Job Responsibilities
- Assure that all meals are prepared and served three times daily, as appropriate, for CARES Center residents and School Day students.
- Prepare meals for transportation as needed.
- Be familiar with Child Nutrition, DOH, and Medicaid standards and follow Offer vs. Serve guidelines and practices.
- Assure that all meals are prepared under safe and sanitary conditions without contamination.
- Maintains portion and cost control, using standardized recipes and measuring.
- Provides for special dietary needs as directed by Dietary Manager and/or Registered Dietician.
- Provides diets and snacks as directed by physician orders.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment at all times in Kitchen and Dining Area.
- Washes, sanitizes and stores clean dishes after each meal.
- Monitor and document temperature of all fridge and freezers on a daily basis.
- Participates in the safety and infection control activities as directed.
- Participates in monthly supervision with Dietary Manager.
- Participates in monthly dietary team meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED;
- Three years’ experience cooking in a health care environment or with childhood nutrition;
- A basic understanding of dietary requirements;
- The ability to read, write and speak English;
- To be at least twenty-one years old;
- To possess a valid driver’s license;
- To be covered by the organization’s insurance provider.
